I start painting by doing a block colour base coat, I make sure that all the modroc is covered in this block colour before I start painting more details on. I find it easier to cover up small bits that may have been missed if they’re all the same colour rather than trying to colour match further down the line. (I don’t like finding white bits of modroc that have been misssed after I’ve spent ages painting and having to try to match the colour up, even if it’s just a tiny dot)
